It’s summer and it’s hot outside. Definitely one of the best season to enjoy homemade iced tea. The best thing about making your own iced tea is being able to control the strength of the brew and the sweetness of the tea.

I like to use black tea for iced tea because it gives more depth of flavour. I like to do one bag of tea as a flavoured black tea and the other plain black tea.

Ingredients

2 large bags of black tea 1.7L of boiling water

1/4-1/3 cup honey

In a glass pitcher, add your tea bags and pour in the hot water. While the tea is steeping, add in your honey and taste to determine sweetness. Mix in the honey and leave the tea bags steeping for 2-3 minutes. Then remove the tea bags and let the tea cool. When you drink the iced tea, add ice cubes if you find the tea a bit strong.

Enjoy!
