As I continue to support the local community, I’m finding more and more independent apparel brands. These makers put so much love into their products and deserve a shoutout. These are brands without storefronts, if you are looking for Ottawa shops with storefronts to support, click here

Blondie Apparel

Blondie is based out of Almonte, ON and their apparel can be found at Doree’s Habit, owned by Blondie Co-owner Brodie. Their pieces are some of the softest and coziest They’ve got sweaters, scarves, toquess and accessories. Their apparel can also be found across Canada, the details are on their website. Calita Intimates

Calita is owned by Rebecca who is based in Ottawa. She creates beautiful underwear made from natural fibers. Natural fibers for undergarments are one of the best options, it creates more breathability. Check out Calita’s website

Copious Fashions

Carissa is another amazing designer who owns Copious Fashions. Each piece from Carissa’s collections revolves around being Canadian-made, well-made and being environmentally friendly. She has quite a few collections available online, there’s lots to choose from. Her most recent initiative is the Femme sweater. The Femme sweater showcases women who inspire you. Dutch Bike Printing Co.

Dutch Bike is a hand silkscreened apparel and homeware company in Ottawa, with a focus on the bicycle theme. They hand print each item using water-based eco-friendly ink and source t-shirts from companies that have ethical practices. Check out their website

Fletch Robbins

Fletch Robbins is a husband and wife illustration team who create designs of dinosaur skeletons, animals and lots of other illustrations. Their illustrations are printed onto a variety of t-shirts and hoodies. They have also got prints and cards available online. Check out their website

Jet Set Collective

Jet Set Collective is an apparel company located in Ottawa who creates wicked apparel for jet setters. I love the concept of supporting a local brand that keeps you cozy while you travel. Check out their website

Little Press Co

Little Press Co. was started by Tamy, an Ottawa mom of 2 kids, to keep busy when her son was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2018. He is now cancer free and this apparel line continued on! I recently purchased a t-shirt from this lovely shop and love it. Check out their holiday designs on their website here

Mama Dye

If you haven’t already seen Mama Dye’s work, she makes incredible tie dye creations. You can even get a matching sweat suit created with custom colours. What a great gift idea for yourself or a loved one! Check out her instagram page here

McShane Custom Design

McShane Custom Design creates wonderful tie dye apparel and is located in Ottawa. This shop offers local pick-up in Ottawa and $1 from each purchase is donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Another great gift idea for your friends and family! Check out their Facebook

Octopied Mind

This Ottawa apparel brand creates thought-provoking graphics on quality products. Each of their pieces tell a story we all share. They have incredible graphics and offer free local pick-up and free shipping on orders over $150. Check out their website

Rain and Moonwater

Rain and Moonwater offers natural fiber hand dyed boho apparel. All of their pieces are hand sewn and dyed using an ice dye method. Ice dying is a slow fashion technique using ice and reactive dyes. Check out their website

Six One Three Co.

Six One Three Co. is based in Ottawa and offers a range of printed apparel. Their mission is to give back to charities of all sorts. 5% of their sales go to the Concussion Legacy Foundation and another 5% goes to different charities each month. Check out their website

Stephanie Davis

Stephanie Davis designs ready-to-wear and one-of-a-kind gowns for women. They have a lovely focus on empowering women and donate a percentage of each order to charities to support the mental health and wellbeing of the local community. This brand believes in the slow fashion movement, which I condone! Check out their website

Tangente Clothing

Tangente Clothing is designed and created in Ottawa. Their apparel available at Workshop and Flock boutiques in Ottawa. They have a great selection of tops, dresses and more! Check out their website

Twiss and Weber

Twiss and Weber closed their physical storefront but they remain available as an online shop. They design, cut and sew their apparel in Ottawa. They are community oriented and support local! Check out their website

Village Envy

Village Envy is a local Ottawa shop owned by Chinelo who also runs The Thirsty Maiden Cafe in Kanata. Village Envy has a wide range of apparel and accessories for everyone. They are currently in a pop-up shop at the Thirsty Maiden. Check out their website
