Fall in Ottawa is such a beautiful time of the year and the weather is perfect for outdoor play. All you need is an extra layer or two, a rain suit, rain boots and possibly a warm hat! The Ottawa valley has so much to offer for toddlers and families, all you need to do is drive around a bit. A lot of the fall fun is on the periphery of the city, but it's worth the drive! I will also add that all of these are outdoor activities, but there are also indoor options if you are interested (check out some of my other posts).

Apple picking
Apple picking is such a fun tradition for families. It's perfect for toddler who are learning and who might want to pick a hand full of apples. But it's also a great photo opportunity and there are always so many other activities to partake in while visiting an apple orchard. I've listed a few that have more activities on site (there are a few others who aren't included here).

Pumpkin picking
Pumpkin picking in Ottawa is always a fun activity! You can usually ride a wagon to pick your own pumpkins and there are a few other attractions to visit as well. The most common activities include corn mazes and playgrounds, but you might also find face painting, bouncy castles and more!

Fall Farm visits
Fall is such a lovely time to visit farms across the city. The livestock are typically there all year round, but you get the added bonus of fall themed activities! Many of these farms also have a variety of kids activities and playgrounds too! Valleyview Little Animal farm is also a fun option and it was included in our summer activities.

Fall Fairs
Another great reason to attend a fair in the fall, the mild weather. Fall fairs are such a great place to bring your toddler to explore, visit livestock and maybe sit on a ride or two! But they are also a good opportunity to support local vendors and events.
